Selling Your Home - Property Guys Presentation
The “Property Guys” presented a third alternative in selling your home – by private sale rather than through Sandycove or a Real Estate Agent. Although selling privately has always been an option, the Property Guys approach permits you to have a professional, planned, approach to selling while not paying real estate fees. Their presentation discussed the differences in the modern real estate market, especially the modern emphasis by buyers on using the Internet to locate potential homes and examined the advantages and disadvantages of their method. The various tools available to you, including a selling plan, were shown. Of special note was that you do not need your own computer and Internet access to use their system – they can do it for you. Their fees are a flat rate of $358 – you save the entire real estate fees – potentially $1000’s saved.
In the second part of the seminar, “staging” your home was discussed – that is, preparing your home for sale so that it shows in the most attractive way. The emphasis was on making the potential buyer visualize themselves, not you, in the home. Services available range from as little as presenting you with a plan as to what to do, to actually helping you carry out the recommendations. This can include decorating, arranging storage of excess items etc. Further services connected with your actual move, such as disposal of surplus items when downsizing and packing assistance are also available.

Gardening and Plant Exchange and Lemonade Social
Meet and talk with Master Gardener Judith Rogers. Judith writes a gardening column in a local newspaper. She will pass on knowledge of low maintenance plants, new tools available and tips to make gardening easier for us.
There will also be a plant exchange where you can add to your garden without spending money. Bring your plants and be sure to label them for the plant exchange and mark sun or shade. A good way to do this is with popsicle sticks. Anyone who would like to donate plants but cannot bring plants to the seminar call June at 431-6761 for pick up.
If you are having problems with a plant or bush, and would like to ask Judith for advice, please bring a leaf or flower from the plant. We will end with a wonderful social on the lawn, with lemonade and cookies.
